We Survived!

They did it!
Your kids survived the cranial bombardment that is mid year testing. They took spelling tests, math tests, reading tests, Treasures tests, writing tests and science tests. I am very proud of how hard they worked. They did their best and it shows in their scores. I look forward to meeting with you at the end of February so I can show off your kids work! Please keep using the homework links on the right side of this blog . This way your kids will get all their homework credit on the report cards.

Happy New Year!!!!

We have hit the road running. This week and next week our students will be working on their Social Studies Reports. They have picked a topic and are now required to search out information from at least two different sources. They are taking notes and compiling their information into a report to share with the class. They will then create an illustration to go along with their work.
In math we are working on large digit addition and subtraction as well as keeping up on our times and division skills. Please watch for spelling and times tables to come home on Mondays. Remind your little ones to study hard during the week so that they will do well on their Friday quizes.
In science we will be starting The Water Cycle and Weather units. Science is always a blast.
Also, on Monday the 9th through Thursday the 12th we will be doing our Unit 3 Treasures tests and Dibels Reading Tests from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. each day. Please have your kids well rested, fed and here on time. They have worked hard and will do great!!!

Dixie Care & Share

Thank you so much for helping with the can drive. Our class ended up with 674 items. What an incredible response to such a great cause. The kids have just been part of the true meaning of Christmas!

We Won !!!!

Yea!! Our class is the Gold Medal Class for December. We ran the most laps around the track and did it with a good attitude. I'm proud of the kids for doing such a great job. Here's our trophy.

Next we want to bring the most cans for the food drive. Please keep it coming and we'll really be helping out Dixie Care & Share.

Mountain Men Claymations

Here they are!! The kids worked very hard on these movies. They teamed up, wrote the stories, built the models and filmed the claymations themselves. I'm very happy with how they turned out.
